finding my way in the web

After taking the Betty Blogger summer school I believe I'm well in the way to finding my way through the web, so on a scale from 1 to 10 I give myself a 7!!!
This course totally met my expectations and I'm very happy I participated in it.  The biggest challenge for me was time....there just doesn't seem to be enough of it since I would have liked to spend more time in all the different applications we learned.
The "self directed" learning model was great, easy to follow for the most part and fun!!!
I would totally recommend this course to my friends...I already have!!
Thanks so much Library Lady! I loved all your witty writing and sense of humor.

LibraryThing

LibraryThing is an interesting web site.  It's pretty neat to be able to get in touch with other people that have similar interests in books.
I will probably use this tool at some point but unfortunately I don't have a lot of time for reading at the moment with that said I will try and remember to add books as I slowly built my catalogue.

task #8 RSS feeds

I subscribed to: Globe and Mail, in a few different sections: national, news, technology.  Google reader was easy enough to navigate and I will continue to use it to keep up with the news.

task #7 - wiki, wiki

I will be bringing the yummy for your tummy Rum Cake mentioned in the previous blog.  My PB  experience was pretty cool and easy to use.
I don't think that at the moment I have any need for my own wiki, but it's good to know it's there.

zapote- photo sharing

I chose a photo of a zapote which is a fruit I used to eat when I lived in Colombia many moons ago.  It brings back lots of sweet memories from my childhood.

I didn't see any tags listed but some good ones would be: Colombia, zapote etc.
I think Picasa is a great tool .....I totally see myself using this application.

To tweet or not to tweet? That is the question

Well it has been interesting exploring Tweeter although I did open up an account I'm still not sure if I will use it to it's full capacity....I don't have a lot to say unless I believe it's important enough to say.  But it might be a useful tool to stay up to date on recent scientific developments, local news, etc.

I do have concerns about social networking there is just to much information out there....too much of anything is not good.  So I believe you don't have to tell the world about every minute detail that goes on in your life or minute thought that goes on in your head. My privacy is very important.

I will give Tweeter a try for the duration of the class then I will decide to tweet or not to tweet.
